I returned home to find a tray full of beautifully iced and decorated cupcakes sitting on the kitchen benchtop.
Needless to say, I alternated from immediate delight, to intrigue, to dismay, to curiosity and finally, to salivating.
My initial delight turned to wondering who made the cakes and for what purpose. Then dismay set in when I wondered if it was meant for someone else. This was followed by sheer curiosity as to what it all meant but at the same time, I couldn’t wait to try one of these delicious-looking cupcakes.
I searched the house to find out about these mysterious but tempting delights. Imagine my beaming face when I was told that they were meant for all of us. A friend had made them for her daughter’s birthday party and had set aside a tray full for us.
I can candidly admit that I would have been sorely disappointed if the cupcakes weren’t for us. I give thanks for our family friend for thinking of us and sending the tray of cakes over.
